Continental Automotive Corporation begins production of diesel injectors in Asia

As part of its strategy to achieve localized production in Asia, German supplier Continental AG has begun producing peizo diesel injectors and high-pressure pumps in Amata, Thailand.

In China, India and Europe, these parts will be used on passenger and light commercial diesel vehicles.

The factory, worth 5 billion baht (100 million euros), covers an area of ​​50,000 square meters, with an annual production capacity of 500,000 high-pressure pumps and 2.5 million injectors.

Rainer Doerrheide, General Manager of Amata City, a mainland car company in Thailand, said: “Our strategy is to provide Asian auto manufacturers with sustainable solutions at competitive prices. We are working hard to localize the entire value chain. This includes R&D, procurement and manufacturing in Asia."

The factory in Amata, established in the free trade zone, can quickly export parts to China through the nearest customs.

Doerrheide said, "In terms of logistics, supplying parts to the Asian market is easy, such as from Thailand to China and vice versa."
