Honeywell to build turbocharger plant in Slovakia

According to Hospodarske Noviny, a local media in Slovakia, Honeywell International auto parts suppliers have selected Slovakia as the seat of their new turbocharger plant.

Hospodarske Noviny quoted Robert Merva, spokesperson for the Slovak Ministry of Economy, as saying: "Honeywell chose to build a new factory in Slovakia instead of in Poland."

Honeywell may invest 38,300,000 euros (about 5,300,000 US dollars) to build a new factory in Slovakia. The new Honeywell plant will be located in eastern Slovakia and it is expected to employ at least 446 employees.

Slovak Ministry of Economic Affairs spokesperson Robert Merva said: "The Slovak government will provide maximum government subsidies and tax cuts for Honeywell's new plant, with a total value of approximately 50% of Honeywell's investment."
