At Solar Together, we run a unique group-buying program for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery storage. This initiative makes renewable energy more accessible and affordable for those interested in going green.
By joining our group-buying scheme, you can easily purchase your solar PV system and battery at a highly competitive price. The strength of collective bargaining is the foundation of our approach, allowing us to secure better deals than what individual homeowners might find on their own.
Throughout the process, we use the combined buying power of all participants to negotiate the best possible offers from pre-vetted installers. We bring together residents across the UK to boost our negotiation power and ensure you get the best prices available.
This method often leads to better pricing than if you were to request multiple quotes from local installers. In addition, we collaborate with local authorities to help them meet their carbon reduction goals, using their support and expertise to enhance the program's impact.

The Solar Together initiative is operated by iChoosr, a group-buying specialist that has been running such programs since 2008 across Europe. Since 2012, they have partnered with councils and community leaders in the UK to promote renewable energy projects, including this one.
iChoosr has worked with over 160 local authorities in the UK to organize energy switching schemes, helping households save money on their bills. They are active in five countries worldwide and have helped over 1.7 million households save more than £150 million through their initiatives.
The auction process is a reverse auction, where the lowest bid wins. This ensures that all participants receive the most competitive price for their solar and storage systems. All installers involved have been thoroughly vetted to guarantee quality service and reliable installations.
We only work with MCS-certified installers who have a proven track record of delivering high-quality solar systems. During the auction, installers submit bids for systems ranging from 4 to 50 panels, along with different battery sizes. The winning bid sets the price for everyone in the group.
Each package includes insurance-backed guarantees, installation, and monitoring systems, giving you peace of mind. You will also be provided with detailed product specifications before making a decision.
After the auction, you'll receive a personal recommendation with full details about the winning installer and the package offered. The standard package includes solar panels, installation, scaffolding, cabling, mounting materials, an inverter, in-home monitoring, and warranties.
If there are any additional costs based on your roof or energy usage, you’ll be informed beforehand. The installer will confirm these costs after the roof survey.
You can review the package and reach out to the Solar Together Helpdesk if you need further assistance. You're also welcome to join one of our online information sessions.
Your privacy is important — the installer won’t know who you are until you accept the recommendation. If you’re not satisfied with the offer, you can decline it without any obligation.
