China's solar energy market has great potential

On the basis of analyzing the competitiveness, we should sort out the medium and long-term development ideas, plan future development directions, key tasks and safeguard measures, and provide reference for the formulation of the development plan during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period.

According to the requirements of the dual-control development of total volume and intensity, the “13th Five-Year Plan” goal of China's solar thermal energy utilization industry is more comprehensive, with indicators of scale, structure, technology, cost, energy, life, and localization. Among them, the scale of indicators pointed out that by 2020, China's solar thermal utilization of heat collection area of ​​800 million m2, the total annual investment of about 100 billion yuan. In fact, the vigorous market demand in China has promoted the rapid development of the solar energy heat utilization industry, but the solar energy centralized heating heating and cooling is still in the demonstration stage. At present, the mature and widely used methods of solar thermal energy utilization in China are mainly concentrated in the medium and low temperature fields.

With the transformation of economic models, adjustment of industrial structure, technological breakthroughs and popularization and application, the cost of triple-supply systems for hot water supply, heating and cooling will be greatly reduced in China's solar thermal utilization, and commercial development can be realized. By 2030, China's solar heating and the use of solar thermal industry and agriculture will rapidly increase. By 2050, China's solar thermal utilization in the industrial and agricultural areas is expected to play a significant role in energy-saving emission reduction.

The “China Renewable Energy 2050 Development Roadmap” points out that by 2020, the application of solar hot water systems in China will continue to be the mainstream application mode, with about 60% of buildings being installed with solar water heating systems. At the same time, the application of solar heating and refrigeration systems is rapidly developing. About 1% of the total construction area will be applied to solar heating and refrigeration systems. As the technology matures and the speed of popularization increases, during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, China’s solar thermal utilization industry has great potential in heating and cooling applications. Without counting foreign export markets, China’s domestic market space alone is expected to reach hundreds of billions of dollars. Solar energy will play an active role in the substitution of coal and structural adjustment of energy use, and will have a more significant effect on the energy-saving and emission reduction of the entire society.
