Hong Kong Enterprises Establish Alliance to Develop Mainland Auto Parts Market

The Hong Kong Productivity Council together with various industry associations has recently formed the "Hong Kong Automotive Optomechanical Industry Alliance" and hopes to pool the strength of all sectors to jointly develop the mainland automobile market and become a supplier of components for mainland vehicle manufacturers.

The Productivity Promotion Bureau pointed out that the automotive industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the Mainland in recent years. Both output and sales have grown at a rapid rate, directly driving the demand for automobiles, optoelectronics and electromechanical components, and creating enormous business opportunities. The Union hopes to obtain 100 billion U.S. dollars of orders in 2010.

In Hong Kong, there are more than 50 industries involved in the automobile manufacturing industry. The establishment of the alliance is expected to break the dispersal situation and increase mutual exchanges. The associations participating in the alliance include the Auto Parts Industry Association, the Electronics Industry Chamber of Commerce, the Optoelectronics Association and the Association of Key Component Manufacturers.

Chen Qichen, president of the consortium and the president of the Electronics Industry Chamber of Commerce, said that the alliance will formulate strategies for Hong Kong's industrial expansion into the mainland market and organize study tours to various major automobile production bases and optoelectronics industry centers in the Mainland to enable mainland enterprises to understand the capabilities and quality of Hong Kong manufacturers. Prime, direct orders.

Chen Renming, president of the Hong Kong Automobile Parts Industry Association, believes that Hong Kong manufacturers have the strength to open up the mainland market. In the supply of smoky engine parts, some of the industry's self-developed fuel injection core technologies have reached a very high level, only previously sold to automobile manufacturers through a third party, so Hong Kong manufacturers become second and third Echelon supplier.
