Mitsui Chemical Compound Plastics (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., which invested US$15 million, laid a foundation for the Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in Zhongshan yesterday. The company supplies raw materials such as plastic alloys and PP compounds to auto giants such as Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Mazda, and is expected to officially start production on April 1 next year.
It is reported that there are currently Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Isuzu and other world-class auto parts manufacturers have settled down in Guangzhou. Zhongshan City took initiative to undertake the radiation of Guangzhou Automobile Industry. In 2002, Torch Auto Parts Industrial Park was established in the Torch Development Zone. At present, there are 25 Japanese auto parts companies in the industrial park.
