Innovative technologies at the Atlas Copco Industry Fair

Atlas Copco presented a series of innovative solutions at the Air Compressor Special Exhibition at the Hannover Messe, which opened on April 4, 2011.

Key innovations include specially designed energy efficient high speed centrifugal compressors, a range of efficient drum dryers, innovative controller software (which monitors multiple compressors) and oil-free scrolling innovations that increase installation flexibility. The Atlas Copco booth (Hall 26, Stand B40) showcases our latest innovations and services that are completely self-developed and are all integrated.

Really experience the installation process

At the Hannover Messe, customers will see the integrated installation process for the first time, as if they were in the factory floor. These installations include Atlas Copco's GA oil-injected screw compressors, air handling equipment (minimum pressure, optimized regeneration cycle, and constant pressure dew point down to -70 °C to increase energy in new adsorption dryers) Efficiency), the new ES6 controller (up to 6 new compressors can be monitored simultaneously, the appropriate compressor can be viewed at any time during production), the gas tank and the nitrogen generator. Each component can be easily integrated to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Success story of technological innovation

The Atlas Copco ZH 350+ oil-free high-speed direct-connected centrifugal blower is the result of a large number of designers' research and development work and will be officially launched at the Air Compressor Exhibition. Designed for customers in the pharmaceutical, electronics, aerospace, and automotive industries that require energy efficiency and reliability. This industrial medium-pressure air three-stage centrifugal compressor will be the first commercial compressor to use a high-speed motor without a gearbox. Excellent energy efficiency compared to conventional turbo air compressors. The first batch of compressors will be delivered in June this year.

New energy-saving MD/ND drum dryer

Atlas Copco has introduced the new MD 2000 (dew point down to -25°C) to further expand its range of popular oil-free screw technology dryers to the centrifugal (turbine) dryer range. The MD dryer features no compressed air loss, no freon, no filtering and electronic heating, and consumes only 120 watts of energy, which is equivalent to the power consumption of two bulbs.

In addition, Atlas Copco will introduce a new range of low dew point energy-saving drum dryers. This dryer has a dew point of -40 ° C. Visitors will also be fortunate to see the more economical ND 1800 dryer, which works with screw compressors. It saves 50% of total life cycle cost compared to traditional twin tower dryers.

Do-it-yourself preparation of nitrogen

Atlas Copco is one of the few manufacturers that can design and manufacture complete nitrogen generation systems. The NG Nitrogen Generator provides reliable, efficient and economical on-site preparation of nitrogen with a purity of 99,999%. This machine is also part of the integrated installation show.

Reduce energy costs

The fuel-injected GA on display at the booth represents a range of oil-injected screw air compressors that have been continuously improved to increase productivity and reduce energy costs. Compared to the previous generation of rotors, the new excellent screw rotors have increased the displacement (FAD) by 8%.

Further improvements in the energy efficiency of GA products are attributed to the R410A refrigerant dryer in the Atlas Copco oil-injected screw compressor range. The R410A, introduced in June 2009, reduces power consumption by 40% even at full load compared to previous generation integrated dryers.

Leading position in oil-free technology

A number of recently developed innovative oil-free technologies, including ZS+ VSD screw blowers, will also be on display. This blower helps the pneumatic conveying plants and sewage treatment plants save a lot of energy through the transformation of Roots technology products. Also showcased the latest medical and marine industry solutions.

The new oil-free scroll compressor SF 17-22 kW is the result of continuous innovation by Atlas Copco. Self-manufactured tubular mainframes offer more choices for customers with strict air quality requirements (hospitals, libraries, breweries, universities, pharmaceutical plants or other industries). By optimizing the cooling system design, reducing pressure drop and air inlet temperature, Atlas Copco compressors enhance reliability and performance levels. This allows the SF 17-22 series with a multi-core 5.5 kW cylindrical mainframe to increase the displacement (FAD) by more than 51% and the specific power (SER) by 6% compared to conventional scroll compressors. .

Focusing on customer feedback is the key to success

“The innovative technology presented at the Hannover Messe Air Compressor Special Exhibition is the result of our continuous improvement of our customers' opinions and continuous improvement,” said Stephan Kuhn, President of Atlas Copco Compressor Technology Business Unit.

“Welcome customers to understand how we turn their feedback into continuous productivity, reliability and the best solutions and services in the industry.”
