Steel mills increase demand for steel prices next year

The power take-off (PTO) device is typically mounted on the side of a standard automobile transmission. Most vehicle gearboxes are designed with an installation port that allows the PTO to access the rotational power from the constantly meshed gears inside the transmission. This power is then transferred through various transmission components and a control system to drive the drum of a concrete mixer and the pressurizing pump.

Traditional PTO systems extract power from a specific gear within the gearbox housing, while the cement mixer draws power from the flywheel located on the clutch housing. There are two main types of full-power PTO devices. One type is installed in the clutch housing, between the transmission and the gearbox. It features a constant meshing gear on the gearbox shaft. When the PTO is engaged, the clutch is disengaged, and the transmission is shifted into neutral. This design is commonly used in high-spec fire trucks.

The other type of full-power PTO is positioned in the middle of the drive shaft, incorporating a conversion mechanism. When power is taken from this system, the rear axle’s transmission is automatically disconnected. At this point, the gearbox must be set to direct gear. This type of PTO is primarily used in cement pump trucks, where continuous and high-power output is essential for operation.

These PTO systems play a crucial role in transferring mechanical power from the engine to auxiliary equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable performance in specialized vehicles. Understanding their design and function helps in selecting the right system based on the application requirements, whether it's for construction, firefighting, or industrial use.

Honeycomb Seal

Honeycomb gas seals are mainly used in turbine machinery such as aviation engines, gas turbines, and steam turbines, as well as chemical equipment. Seals are mainly divided into blade top seals, baffle (or stationary blade ring) seals, and shaft seals based on their position and function.


Honeycomb sealing can produce good sealing effect, reduce airflow loss, and improve aerodynamic efficiency. The honeycomb seal at the top of the blade also has a good dehumidification effect, which can effectively protect the blades from erosion by water vapor.
