Li Yizhong, director of the State Administration of Work Safety Supervision and Management, disclosed on September 20 at the 2005 International Risk Management Council meeting that the bureau is building a national emergency rescue command center for production safety.
Li Yizhong said that the Chinese government is building a public safety system that responds to natural disasters, accidents, disasters, public health incidents, and social security incidents. An emergency management office has been set up in the State Council. The National Security Production Emergency Rescue Command Center, which is being established, will use its own center as its center and plans to establish professional centers, provincial centers, and professional organizations such as mines, hazardous chemicals, firefighting, tourism, special equipment, medical care, and civil aviation.
Li Yizhong stated that the State Administration of Work Safety Supervision and Administration is formulating the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†for safe production, clarifying the location, goals, tasks, and measures for safe production. Safe production is also one of the important contents of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" of relevant departments and local governments of the State Council.
