Researchers at the Research Center for Heat and Mass Transfer at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences have conducted research and development on new technologies for measuring the surface temperature of turbine blades, and have recently obtained a large number of technological achievements. For example, the gas spectrum radiation characteristics calculation program has been developed and an experimental verification platform has been designed and established; a reverse Monte Carlo method radiation calculation program has been designed and developed; and a measurement platform for the spectral radiation characteristics of the material surface has been designed and established.
Based on the above-mentioned technical theory and the support of the experimental platform, the turbine blade temperature measurement prototype and the portable temperature measurement system have been successfully completed and calibrated and tested. The project is currently undergoing further testing and validation.
[China Instrument Network Instrument Research and Development] The researchers of the Research Center for Heat and Mass Transfer at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have recently made major breakthroughs in the research and development of new technology for measuring the surface temperature of turbine blades. Gas turbines can be used in aircraft thrusters, land-based power generation and various other industrial applications. In order to increase the thermal efficiency and output power of the gas turbine, the engine of the advanced gas turbine needs to operate at a high temperature, and the operating temperature is much higher than the metal allowable temperature. In order to improve the reliability of blades and prolong their service life, it is necessary to accurately measure the temperature of turbine blades in order to analyze their thermal stress distribution, improve blade material, cooling, structure, process, installation, and the like. Therefore, in the current pursuit of high efficiency and long life of the turbine, the measurement of the surface temperature of the aero-engine turbine blade becomes more and more important.
