Universal President Wins World's Most Influential Entrepreneur


Time magazine and CNN published their list of “World's Most Influential Entrepreneurs” in 2003 on November 23rd. Entrepreneurs included high technology, media, food, etc. The head of the world's largest company, including two Chinese, were Vice Chairman of China Yangtze River Industrial Co., Ltd., Li Zeyi and President of China Wanxiang Group, Lu Weiding.

According to the US World News Network, "Time" magazine and CNN pointed out that the 39-year-old Li Zelan who graduated from Stanford University's engineering department will obviously inherit the business empire of his father and Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing. In addition to real estate, Cheung Kong and its sister company, Hutchison Whampoa, also control Europe’s third-generation mobile phone network and the world’s largest port operations. The company operates telecommunications networks, supermarkets, and drug stores in Hong Kong. Li Zezhen also invested in Air Canada in October and became the largest single shareholder of Air Canada.

Lu Weiding, 32, is the son of Lu Guanqiu, the founder of Wanxiang Group, the largest automotive parts supplier in China. Wanxiang Group controls the largest private company listed on the Chinese stock market. Wanxiang Group not only provided parts for Chinese car manufacturers, but also set up factories in the United States to provide parts for the three largest US car manufacturers.

Lu Weiding is educated in Singapore and is expected to inherit his father as chairman of the group and complete the work of founding entrepreneurs to shift to the second generation.
