XCMG independently researches and develops the first AC drive dump truck in China

As the pillar industry of the national economy, the mining machinery industry plays an important role in China's economic construction and social development. As a kind of mine transport equipment, electric drive dump trucks are widely used in large-scale open-pit coal mines, iron ore, and chemical and water conservancy and hydropower construction because of their advantages such as heavy load, strong power, short shipping distance, and fast shipment. Electric drive dump trucks have been developed in foreign countries for decades. The basic technology has been very mature. Foreign brands mainly include Caterpillar, Terex, Japan Komatsu, etc. Their products are mainly concentrated in varieties of 100 tons or more. . Our country has long relied on imports of electric drive dump trucks. Compared to Japan and the United States and other mature electric drive dump truck manufacturers, the development of domestic electric drive dump trucks started late, the technology is weak and the reliability is low. In recent years, on the one hand, with the rapid economic development of neighboring countries and African countries in China, its infrastructure and the development of new large-scale mines have led to a sustained and rapid increase in the demand for dump trucks. On the other hand, the user's choice has determined that it will tend to be more large-scale and the development of new technology applications; for mines of different sizes, they will try to use large-tonnage models as much as possible to reduce the total number of vehicles. The choice of the tonnage of the electric drive dump truck by the user will depend on whether it helps to increase the production efficiency of the mine. On the one hand, in order to pursue production efficiency, large-scale mines prefer to use heavy-duty off-highway dump trucks; on the other hand, due to the constraints of their own conditions, small and medium-sized mines are more suitable for non-dumping loads of 91-216 tons. Road dump truck. However, the overall trend is that users will use larger non-highway dump trucks according to their own conditions. In addition, the economic life of electric dump trucks is generally about 10 years, and the annual turnover rate is 10%.

The research and development of the electric drive dump truck AC drive system was developed on the basis of the CNR electric drive transmission system. The successful application of this technology has broken the monopoly of foreign companies. This technology uses domestic generators, frequency converters, variable frequency motors and domestic core control systems to achieve complete localization and improve the market competitiveness of domestic electric drive dump trucks. XCMG is the first company in the world to use AC-DC-AC transmission drive technology on 170-ton electric dump trucks.
