Environmental monitoring key measurement indicators research project started

The National Science and Technology Support Project “Study on Key Measurement Standards and Measurement Techniques for Environmental Monitoring” was formally launched in China Metrology Institute recently. The improvement of the measurement level in the field of environmental monitoring in China will receive technical support from the completion of the project.

It was learned from the China Metrology Institute that the project will conduct research on key measurement issues that need urgent solution in the environmental field. The overall goal of the project is to initially set up 9 sets of corresponding measurement standard devices involving environmental and climate monitoring subjects, develop more than 60 kinds of standard substances, form 13 high-level technical specifications, and adopt 23 measurement methods, and improve 9 quantitative value transmission systems. At the same time, international comparisons of corresponding magnitudes were carried out to obtain international equivalents and mutual recognition of climate and environmental monitoring. Through popularization and application, it meets the needs of society for environmental measurement and related detection technologies, and solves common, key measurement standards and measurement technology problems that restrict the development of the industry in environmental monitoring, and finally achieves traceability of monitoring instrument values ​​to ensure the accuracy of monitoring data. Effectiveness, realize international mutual recognition, improve the national environmental protection monitoring level and the ability to fulfill international conventions.

As the technical basis of environmental protection, the level of environmental monitoring directly determines the effectiveness of environmental protection, and the level of measurement standards for environmental monitoring determines the accuracy of data monitoring instruments. It is reported that China has built a total of more than 4,800 professional and industrial monitoring stations. The research and establishment of environmental monitoring and measurement standards will effectively improve the consistency, reliability and effectiveness of environmental monitoring data. At present, China lacks measurement standards and corresponding traceability systems in the field of environmental monitoring. It is difficult to ensure that monitoring data are accurate, reliable and comparable, and that international mutual recognition cannot be achieved. Therefore, the field of environmental monitoring urgently needs the support of measurement standards.

The completion of this project will provide powerful technical support for measurement to improve the measurement level in China's environmental monitoring field. It will fill some gaps in China's environmental measurement standards for standard measurement devices, reference materials, and specifications. It will initially establish China's environmental monitoring and measurement system, and it will be traceable upwards. National measurement base standard.

The organization and implementation unit of the project is AQSIQ, and China Measurement Institute is the lead unit of the project. The project includes 8 topics such as "Study on the Traceability of CO2 Emissions from Flue Gas" and the implementation period is 4 years.
