Whether it's in a dairy, brewery, bread factory, or frozen food processing plant, or in packaging and filling applications within the food industry, the new generation of Uprox+ inductive sensors are designed to meet the demands of even the most challenging environments. From long-term emulsion rinsing to high-pressure cleaning processes, these sensors offer a complete solution that optimizes system performance, reduces input costs, and lowers overall operational expenses.
One of the key advantages of the Uprox+ WD series is its exceptional system stability. The sensor housing is made from materials that resist common cleaning agents and disinfectants, ensuring long-lasting performance. With excellent sealing properties and high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), the WD series delivers the protection needed for reliable operation—even in the harshest food manufacturing environments.
In many industries, especially food and beverage, devices are frequently exposed to rigorous cleaning cycles involving high temperatures (up to 80°C or higher) and strong chemical solutions under high pressure. This is essential to maintain aseptic and hygienic production standards. The Uprox+ WD series is specifically engineered to withstand these conditions, making it an ideal choice for such demanding applications.
The WD series uses the same advanced multi-coil technology and patented coil layout as the standard Uprox+ sensors. It also incorporates printed circuit board technology and a new ASIC chip, resulting in enhanced performance features such as full metal detection, extended switching distance, superior EMC characteristics, and strong resistance to magnetic interference. Additionally, the use of new materials like stainless steel 1.4404 and LCP ensures excellent resistance to cleaning agents and disinfectants. These features have been independently verified by Henkel Ecolab, confirming the sensors' suitability for the food industry.
Available in various housing styles—M12, M18, and M30—the Uprox+ WD series meets the highest protection standards. When combined with the FB series connectors, it achieves IP69K protection, ensuring maximum reliability and compliance with hygiene requirements in critical sectors. Stainless steel connectors (VA4-1.4404), PVC clamps, and cables make these sensors the perfect fit for food and beverage applications.
Turck also offers a V4A stainless steel connection module with IP69K protection, allowing signal collection directly in the field and transmission via a single-strand multi-core cable. LED indicators provide easy diagnostics, enhancing maintenance efficiency.
For applications where stainless steel is not required, the Uprox+ WD sensor can be paired with the new Fixcon® connector. This innovative connector simplifies installation with a quick plug-and-play design, eliminating the need for screwing. It ensures fast, secure connections while maintaining IP69K protection, making it the ideal solution for high-pressure washing scenarios.
