With 8500 fuel pump heavy truck fuel economy II engine

In the workshop hall of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group's Jinan Power Co., Ltd., the company officially unveiled a new generation of fuel-efficient products—the No. 2 Fuel Economy Engine—marking a significant step in the ongoing fuel-saving trend within the industry. This launch has sparked considerable interest, as the engine is set to be integrated across the entire Hao Li product series and will soon be available in all models. Developed in collaboration with internationally recognized design institutes and based on the European mechanical development program, the No. 2 Fuel Economy Engine was specifically tailored for China's road transport conditions. It represents a breakthrough in independent intellectual property technology. After undergoing 6,000 hours of continuous testing, the engine achieved a minimum fuel consumption of 189g/kWh, meeting European standards. Field tests have shown that vehicles equipped with this engine can reduce fuel consumption by over 10% per 100 kilometers, while increasing torque reserve by more than 30%. Wang Donghui, deputy party secretary of China National Heavy Duty Truck, emphasized that with rising oil prices, many domestic manufacturers have introduced their own fuel-efficient products. However, not all of them deliver real performance. Some simply follow trends without substantial innovation, making it harder for consumers to choose the right product. The No. 2 Fuel Economy Engine, he said, not only offers real fuel savings but also stands out in efficiency among similar products in the country. Liu Wei, director of the Technology Center at CNHTC, explained that the engine’s improved fuel efficiency comes from key innovations, such as the use of an 8500 high-pressure fuel injection pump and a supercharger with a deflation valve, replacing the traditional common rail system. These changes optimize the engine’s intake and fuel supply systems, significantly enhancing both power and economy. He added that the core component of the engine is the fuel pump. While other manufacturers use the 7100 model, which still results in relatively high fuel consumption, CNHTC developed the 8500 pump in partnership with foreign companies, specifically for Chinese heavy trucks. The 8500 pump offers superior performance, reducing fuel consumption by up to 3g/kWh and improving torque reserve by 30%, leading to better acceleration, climbing ability, and overload capacity. Liu shared an example: compared to a standard engine, the No. 2 Fuel Economy Engine costs about 500 yuan more, but it saves 5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. If a vehicle runs 150 km daily, it can save 8 liters per day. At current oil prices, that translates to around 35 yuan saved daily. Within a month, the extra cost can be fully offset. At the same time, the introduction of the new product has led to a surge in sales. From January to July this year, CNHTC produced and sold 35,385 heavy trucks, a 39.12% increase compared to the same period last year. Its market share reached 20.37%, and revenue hit 12.767 billion yuan, up 77.4%. Profits and taxes amounted to 930 million yuan, a rise of over 200 times. Export numbers also rose sharply, with 4,764 units exported and 132 million USD in foreign exchange earnings—an increase of 9 times.
