At the press conference held recently on the 2013 China International Energy-saving and New Energy Automobile Exhibition, Hefei was the nation’s 25 pilot cities for demonstration and promotion of energy-saving and new energy vehicles. In 2012, more than 30 enterprises in Hefei’s new energy automobile assembly industry chain , to achieve a production value of 5 billion yuan. 5622 new energy vehicles have been promoted, accounting for 20% of the country's total, and ranked first among pilot cities.
Since becoming a pilot city in 2009, Hefei's new energy automotive industry has risen to the forefront and has continuously expanded the pilot areas of new energy vehicles to expand into public service areas such as city logistics vehicles, sanitation vehicles, commercial vehicles and construction vehicles. According to reports, by the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Planâ€, Hefei will have a production capacity of 100,000 new energy passenger vehicles and 5,000 new energy passenger vehicles, and will strive to maintain its leading position in 25 pilot cities across the country.
