Extraction and purification system is the key process of benzene purification. In view of the large fluctuation of the system and the adjustment process affecting the production cost, the benzene refining plant added a solvent line for the lean extractor pump inlet, stabilized the lean solvent pump, and ensured the stable operation of the production system. At the same time, according to the processing load, the technicians changed the batches of extractants in batches and realized the system without stopping the replacement of the extractant. In addition, they also increased the fog catcher, promptly recovered the entrainment of the gas and liquid, and reduced the amount of pure benzene venting, optimized the aromatics refining, and stabilized the crude benzene processing volume.

In view of the short operating cycle of coal presses and frequent overturning inspections that affect the safety, stability, and long-term operation of production systems, the plant has extended the service life of gas valves by increasing the number of separators, drains, and a series of sewer lines. The maintenance cost reduced the number of compressor downs and saved power consumption.

In addition, the plant also started to tackle the problem of increasing the premium grade of pure benzene by improving the accuracy of analytical tests, strengthening the benchmarking with major companies, optimizing the process system, and formulating the “Adjustment Plan for Production of Premium Benzene”, and other measures. Produce pure benzene with a purity of 99.95% or more.
