Introduction of Magnetic Separator Magnetic separation is a continuous process where magnetic materials are separated from non-magnetic ones. The mixture passes through a strong magnetic field, and the magnetic material becomes magnetized and gets attracted to the separator's surface, then is discharged in a chute. The efficiency of the separator depends on the strength of the magnet and the conveyor speed. The magnet length is designed so that the magnetic material stays in the magnetic field for 0.4 to 0.5 seconds. Strontium Ferrite permanent blocks are used to achieve a surface gauss of 2500. The gap between the magnet and conveyor can be adjusted. A smaller gap increases separation efficiency. An individual drive is used for the separator and conveyor. Adjustable Stainless steel splitters are placed between chutes. A vibrating feeder with two unbalance motors ensures even material distribution across the belt for better separation. We offer belt-type separators ranging from 650 mm to 2000 mm in width. Classification of Magnetic Separator Electromagnetic Type (with control panel): uses rare earth and ferrite magnets for its magnetic system. Permanent Type (without control panel): uses excitation coils for its electromagnetic system. It is typically used in continuous operations with large amounts of iron materials. Manual Discharge Type (without motor and belt) Self-Discharging Type (with motor and belt) Cooling Types: (for electromagnetic type only) Operating Principle Magnetic and non-magnetic materials pass under the magnetic separator via a conveyor. A feeder ensures even feeding onto the conveyor. Under the influence of the magnetic field, magnetic materials are attracted upwards towards the magnet face. These materials are carried along the cleated belt of the separator and continuously discharged into the magnet chute.
