Introduction of Magnetic Separator Magnetic separation is a continuous process that separates magnetic materials from non-magnetic ones by passing the mixture through a strong magnetic field. The magnetic material becomes magnetized and is attracted to the surface of the separator, where it is discharged in a chute. This process is highly effective for removing iron particles from various materials. The efficiency of the separator depends on the strength of the magnet and the speed of the conveyor belt. The length of the magnet is designed so that the magnetic material remains in the magnetic field for approximately 0.4 to 0.5 seconds. Strontium Ferrite permanent blocks are used to achieve a surface gauss of 2500, ensuring high performance. The gap between the magnet and the conveyor can be adjusted. A smaller gap improves separation efficiency. Each separator has its own drive system, and adjustable Stainless steel splitters are placed between the two chutes. A vibrating feeder with two unbalance motors ensures even distribution of the material across the belt, enhancing the separation process. Belt-type separators are available for widths ranging from 650 mm to 2000 mm. Classification of Magnetic Separator Electromagnetic Type (with control panel): Uses rare earth magnets and ferrite magnets to create a powerful magnetic system. Permanent Type (without control panel): Utilizes excitation coils to generate an electromagnetic field. These are ideal for continuous operations with large amounts of iron-containing material. Manual Discharge Type (without motor and belt) Self-Discharging Type (with motor and belt) Cooling Types: (only for electromagnetic type) Operating Principle Magnetic and non-magnetic materials pass under the magnetic separator via a conveyor. A feeder ensures even feeding onto the conveyor. Under the influence of the magnetic field, the magnetic material is drawn upwards toward the magnet face. It is then carried along the cleated belt of the separator and continuously discharged into the magnet chute.
