Damaged lithium-ion battery is dangerous to replace in time

A Japanese security agency has issued a graphic report to warn of the danger posed by damaged lithium-ion batteries. Batteries are extremely common in portable consumer electronics. They provide power to smartphones, small computers, laptops, and many other devices, and are generally safe. However, if the battery is damaged, the result is literally dangerous.
As part of its work, the security agency tested some of the electronic components. The batteries of the National Institutes of Technology NITE test were about the size of those used in cell phones. They hit with a hammer and then stay on the bench and are not connected from any device. After a period of time, there was a crack in the battery and it exploded in the entire laboratory. This shows similar battery sparks.
Slamming the battery, this leads to internal short circuit and deformation caused by the internal structure. Which accelerates the reaction that leads to more heat and generates a lot of heat. This is a vicious circle called "thermal runaway" that causes a fire or explosion. Fortunately, this explosion is rare. Some are due to manufacturing issues, such as those that affect millions of laptop batteries, while others are due to damaged batteries. However, all battery manufacturers agree that if your battery has any kind of damage, please replace it.
