The first car will be an all-wheel drive crossover, the ID Crozz, which will be unveiled in 2020. Its maximum power is 302 horsepower and is expected to last 300 miles.

Following the launch of ID Crozz, Volkswagen plans to launch its iconic mini bus ID Buzz electric version in 2022, as well as a hatchback and sedan. Because these vehicles will share the MEB platform, they can be produced in the same factory. Volkswagen hopes that by 2025, it will be able to sell 1 million electric vehicles each year, transforming itself from dependence on diesel engines.

Volkswagen's Chattanooga plant produces Atlas and Passat cars. Although Atlas' sales were strong during its launch, Passat's sales were impacted in the United States as consumers chose to continue to shift from cars to crossovers. As of October this year, Passat’s sales in the United States decreased by 8% year-on-year to 54,567 vehicles.
