Voters to select fire district

The Kane County Chronicle recently published an article discussing a ballot referendum that will be voted on by some residents in the Elburn Fire Protection District. On November 4, eligible voters will decide whether to transition from the current fire district to the Fox River and Countryside Fire/Rescue District. This proposed change has sparked political debate. The Elburn Village Board recently passed a resolution opposing the potential disconnection, while Fox River Fire Chief Greg Benson claims that some opponents are spreading false information about his district’s capabilities. Approximately 3,000 registered voters live in the area under consideration for the disconnect. This region is roughly bordered by LaFox Road to the east, Anderson Road to the west, Campton Hills Road to the south, and Silver Glen Road to the north. Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District Chief Kelly Callaghan emphasized that his agency has a long history of providing reliable fire and emergency services to the area. He pointed out that the department has been serving the community for 132 years, far longer than the three-year timeline often cited by critics. Additionally, the district recently opened a new station in Lily Lake to better serve the region. Chief Benson argued that the quality of service would not decline if the area were to join the Fox River district. He noted that a judge had determined that the territory would receive comparable fire and emergency services. In fact, he claimed that response times could actually improve. Currently, calls from the disconnect area are handled by Kane Comm and then transferred to Tri-Com before units are dispatched — a process that can take up to four minutes. In contrast, Fox River calls are handled directly by Kane Comm, with dispatch times taking as little as two and a half minutes. Another key point of the referendum is the potential for lower property taxes. Benson highlighted that Elburn’s tax rate is approximately 0.79, while Fox River’s is around 0.27. To illustrate the savings, the Fox River district provided examples of homes in the disconnect area. One residence on Fox Creek Drive in Campton Hills would pay $1,548.28 in taxes to Elburn but only an estimated $524.44 to Fox River — a difference of over $1,000. On the lower end, some homeowners might save around $350 annually. If the disconnect is approved, Callaghan said the Elburn Fire Protection District won’t know the exact financial impact until the new levy is finalized. However, he assured residents that the district would do everything possible to avoid layoffs. “We still have 20,000 people in our district who need the same level of service,” he said. Both fire districts charge EMS fees, which both chiefs confirmed is standard practice. The rates vary depending on residency status and the type of ambulance used. Benson also addressed concerns about fire response fees. While he denied that the district charges for every fire call, he explained that the cost recovery ordinance allows for fees in specific cases, such as arsons or illegal activities. Additionally, fees could be applied to individuals with a history of false alarms who refuse to fix their alarm systems. This vote is shaping up to be a significant moment for the community, with both sides presenting compelling arguments about service quality, cost, and long-term stability. Thanks, Dan.

KOCKS Series Rolling Guide

KOCKS series rolling guide is an auxiliary equipment used in steel rolling mills, mainly used to adjust the position and shape of the roll gap of the rolling mill to ensure that the rolling mill can work normally and produce steel products that meet the requirements.
The rolling guide usually consists of multiple rolling bearings, which can roll freely during the operation of the rolling mill to meet different rolling needs. The rolling guide can change the shape of the roll gap of the rolling mill by adjusting the position and angle of the rolling bearing, so as to achieve different processing requirements for steel products.
KOCKS series rolling guides have the following characteristics:
1. Precise adjustment: By adjusting the position and angle of the rolling bearing, the precise adjustment of the roll gap of the rolling mill can be realized to meet different processing requirements.
2. High reliability: Made of high-quality rolling bearings and wear-resistant materials, it has high durability and reliability, and can run stably for a long time in a high-intensity working environment.
3. Easy to operate: The rolling guide adopts a simple operating mechanism, which is easy to operate and can quickly adjust the shape of the roll gap of the rolling mill.
4. Automatic control: The rolling guide can be used in conjunction with the automatic control system of the rolling mill to realize automatic adjustment of the roll gap of the rolling mill and improve production efficiency and product quality.
In a word, KOCKS series rolling guide is an important rolling mill auxiliary equipment, which can effectively adjust the position and shape of the roll gap of the rolling mill to meet the processing requirements of different steel products.
