This message is from Drew Gresik: Here are some photos from the Still & Box alarm that took place on January 12, 2015, at a Red-X building located at #26 S. Pulaski Road. The 13th Battalion was dispatched around 3:00 PM on January 12th for a working fire in a vacant Red-X structure. The building, which measured approximately 150 by 50 feet and was a two-story ordinary construction with apartments above storefronts, had been unoccupied for years and was in poor condition. As per Red-X protocol, crews did not enter the building and instead conducted an exterior attack. Tower 14 and Snorkel Squad 2 provided elevated master streams, while four hand lines were stretched — two on Side A, one on Side C, and one on Side D. Engines 95, 38, 44, and 76 were pumping at the scene. The companies involved in the Still & Working Fire included: E95, E38, T36, T48, BN13, BN12 (Safety), RIT, BN14, T29, Sq 2, 2-7-1, EMS 4-5-4, A23, A52. On the Still & Box response, the units were: E44, E76, TL14, BN7, BN4, 2-2-1, A10, 4-6-6, 4-6-8.
