Winfield house fire 6-17-11

Stephen Wilcox shared a series of photos from a house fire that occurred last month at 1N180 Cypress Lane. He provided the following commentary:

This was a general alarm fire with a special, and it involved a two-story frame home. When crews arrived on scene, the entire rear of the house was fully involved in flames. The Wheaton engine went to the roof, while Winfield companies worked from the front—just like the textbook says. I was about a mile and a half away when the first units arrived. I looked in that direction and saw a huge column of smoke rising into the sky. By the time I got there, the fire had already been knocked down, and there was no visible flame left. The photos show the damage on the rear, exterior, and interior of the house. Great job by the firefighters!
