House fire in Chicago Ridge, 11-1-18

From the Chicago Ridge Police Department's Facebook page: The post reads: "When you wear different uniforms, but play for the same team... No matter the patch, we’re all still family! A big thank you to the men in red for swiftly containing the house fire on Oxford and Washington this afternoon. The Chicago Ridge Fire Department received support from multiple neighboring departments—North Palos FD, Burbank FD, Bedford Park FD, Bridgeview FD, and Oak Lawn FD." Officer Kaspar and Officer Jenen played an essential role by helping the homeowner rescue their two dogs. Once the flames were under control, they discovered the homeowner’s two cats unharmed as well. Thankfully, no one inside the house sustained any injuries during the incident. [Attached are several photos of the scene taken by the Chicago Ridge Police Department.] --- I just saw this update on my local police department's page. It's amazing how different emergency services came together to handle the situation. Seeing everyone work so efficiently reminds me of why I feel safe living here. Also, the fact that all the pets made it out okay is such a relief! These moments really show the strong bonds between first responders and the communities they serve.
