After more than four years of unremitting efforts, the West-East Gas Pipeline has been completed and put into production and 20 mainline compressor stations. As of January 13, the total of 39 ultra-high-power mainline compressors with a total installed power of more than 1,100 megawatts have accumulated over 370,000 hours of safe operation.
Over the past few years, West-East Gas Pipeline Company has paid close attention to the preventive maintenance inspection and management of the in-service units, and has worked hard to improve the unit's soundness, operational reliability, and maintenance and repair capabilities. At the same time, aiming at the main hidden dangers affecting safety, stability and economic operation, vigorously carrying out technological research and technological transformation, and in 2008, the design and delivery capacity was reached ahead of schedule. The operating time and the number of inspection and control operations have all increased significantly compared to the previous year. The unit's overall reliability and availability rate have been greatly improved, and the operational guarantee and maintenance capacity have achieved a major leap. Compressor units of all major aircraft types have basically entered a period of stable operation.
At the same time, West-East Gas Pipeline Company completed 44 preventive maintenance inspections last year, an increase of 144% year-on-year. Except for the top 10 maintenance inspections of GE units, which were directed by the foreign party to implement the contract, the remaining 34 times were completed by the West-East Gas Pipeline Company on its own initiative, reducing expenditure by nearly RMB 8 million.
West-to-East Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd. has made great efforts to organize technical breakthroughs and technological transformations in response to the major hidden dangers affecting safety, stability, and economic operation. It has successively organized the implementation of GCU transformation of dry gas sealing systems for RR units and intermittent venting of GE units. Only one solution to intermittent venting of GE units is to reduce natural gas venting by nearly 40 million standard cubic meters per year.
