76th annual Fire Prevention Week Luncheon

Join hundreds of fire service professionals and community members at the 76th annual Fire Prevention Week Luncheon, hosted by the Illinois Fire Sprinkler Coalition. The event will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge, IL. It's a great opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for fire safety and prevention.

The luncheon features a keynote speaker, a delicious gourmet lunch, and plenty of networking time. It's also a special occasion where the IFSA recognizes individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to fire safety and burn prevention. Each year, the IFSA invites nominations for various award categories, and winners are honored during the event.

Since the 1960s, there have been major advancements in how we understand fire behavior and its impact on people and buildings. In that same timeframe, construction techniques, home materials, and residential fire protection systems have evolved significantly. These changes raise important questions: What do they mean for residents? And what challenges do they present for firefighters? Underwriters’ Laboratories has been leading research into these issues, and the luncheon will provide valuable insights for both homeowners and emergency responders.

This year’s featured speaker is Daniel Madrzykowski, a research engineer at the UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute. He holds a Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and has over 30 years of experience dedicated to enhancing fire safety through research and innovation.
