House fire in Northbrook, 10-4-16

This is from Larry Shapiro:

A neighbor contacted the Northbrook Fire Department on October 4th, 2016, just before 2 p.m., reporting smoke coming from a home at 1801 Oak Avenue. Upon arrival, the first responding unit from Northbrook found visible smoke, and the alarm was quickly upgraded to a Code 4, indicating a working fire. Firefighters managed to contain what appeared to be a basement fire that had already burned through part of the floor above.

Several departments responded to the scene, including Northfield Truck 29, Glenview Truck 14, Wheeling Engine 23, and Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Ambulance 52. Northbrook units on the scene included Engines 10 and 11, Truck 12, Ambulances 10 and 11, Battalion 11, and all three chief officers. The coordinated response helped prevent the fire from spreading further.
